Fundraisers are valuable not just for the money they may generate, but because they help broaden our support base, and build a stronger, longer-lasting network of friends who want to help.
Plus, they’re fun.
Some of the ideas that have already been put forward are:
- pre-loved clothing sales
- Touch Football tournaments
- adventure travel groups
- quiz and movie nights
- school donation days
Events that can be run on an annual basis are a great idea as they build continuity of support, and give people a sense of ownership of the cause.
We can publicise the event both on the Courage for Cody Facebook page, and this website, if we think it’s appropriate to do so. Before that, we need the event details to be finalised and correct:
- any specific instructions
Continual event changes will get lost in heavy Facebook traffic, so please fine-tune the details, lock them in, then send them to us along with a colourful flyer or pdf if possible – it makes the event stand out better.
Unfortunately, we can’t offer physical assistance with these events at this stage – the demands of our current situation are just too great – but we truly appreciate all the work you’re putting in on our behalf.
As far as collecting money goes, you can link your event to our donation page here. Or you can choose to start up your own donation page specific to your event, facilitated by something like www.mycause.com.au (we don’t have a preferred service as yet, and be aware that these facilities take varying percentages as a commission).
Or you can collect the money yourself and deposit into Cody’s trust account. Again, contact Courage for Cody for the account details.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
